Compassionate grief support guided by experience, neuroscience, and personal understanding.
This is My Story
Trauma-Informed Grief Coach
I am a Trauma-Informed Grief Coach, mental health professional, Neuro Change Practitioner, and Mind-Body Medicine practitioner. I help adults work through grief, trauma, and emotional pain with compassionate support, creative healing tools, and practical guidance.
But before anything else, I want you to know this: I understand that grief is personal.
It can change your thoughts, your body, your relationships, your routines, and the way you see yourself. It can leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. My work is about creating a space where you do not have to carry all of that alone.
With over 30 years of experience helping individuals through healing and emotional support, I have spent my career walking alongside people during some of the most difficult seasons of their lives.
I began working in the mental health field after earning my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 1993. My early experience included supporting survivors of domestic violence and working with children in the foster care system who had experienced childhood trauma. Those experiences helped me understand how deeply early life events can affect mental health, relationships, self-belief, emotional patterns, and the way people respond to loss.
Over the years, I continued to expand my work through Attachment Theory and TBRI, also known as Trust-Based Relational Intervention. I worked with parents to help them strengthen relationships and build deeper connections with their children. Later, I completed my Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services and became certified as a Neuro Change Practitioner.
Neuro Change focuses on neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to change and adapt. I use this understanding to help clients see how past experiences can shape their beliefs, choices, relationships, and emotional responses. When you begin to understand those connections, healing can feel less confusing and more possible.
I am also trained in EMDR and Mind-Body Medicine, two approaches that support healing by addressing painful memories stored in both the brain and body. These methods have shaped the way I support clients through grief, trauma, and emotional pain with care, patience, and compassion.
Most recently, I became certified as a Trauma-Informed Grief Coach, which led to the creation of One Free Soul Grief Journey.
This practice was created in honor of my sister, Erica, who passed away from cancer at the age of 40. Erica was known in my family as a free soul. She lived with individuality, spirit, and heart. She later carried that same name into her own jewelry business, One Free Soul.
Today, her legacy continues through this work.
One Free Soul Grief Journey is my way of helping others feel seen, supported, and gently guided through grief. My approach is not about rushing your healing or asking you to “move on.” It is about helping you process what you are carrying, reconnect with yourself, and begin finding hope, meaning, and strength in your own time.
If you are grieving, feeling stuck, or trying to understand who you are after loss, I want this space to feel like a place where you can breathe, be honest, and begin again with support.
